A well-built and well-maintained guadua structure can last more than 50 years. The key lies in a preventive maintenance program from day one.
Initial treatments
Before installation, guadua must undergo a preservation process: immersion in boron salts (Boucherie method) or controlled drying to eliminate moisture and insect attack.
Periodic inspections
We recommend visual inspections every 6 months and professional reviews every 2-3 years. Look for signs of cracking, accumulated moisture or discoloration.
Base protection
The points of contact with the ground are the most vulnerable. Make sure the foundations are isolated and well ventilated to prevent water accumulation.
